I was thinking the 4G92 Mivecs only real advantage over a 6A12 Mivec swap is to keep a car compliant for certain racing categories (I compete in ammature motorsport, under 1600cc is a good category in rally/circuit, under 2ltr can be more intense).

stick with the 4g all the money u are going to spend buying more. *poo*,use it to build what u have .look the 4 g is s good engine spend the cash on making that 1.5 scream like a hoe . i have done a 4G big 550cc injectors stinger ecu turbo exhurst minor head work stock but fresh bottom 14 pound. all day babe and. it was the best bang for my buck bigger is not all ways better .i found as long as u have a foundtion to start from its a matter of how much cash u have is the key with thinking a bout

Perhaps looking at retail cost:

$500 - $1k buys a good 4G93 SOHC and ancillaries for a swap

$1500 buys an ok FTO to wreck

$3k for a 4G92m (?) if you can find one

$3.5k for a CM5A GSR half cut (?) if you can find one

$4k+ for a 4G63t with not that many ancillaries for a swap, 4G63t half cut $7k (?)

I had one of the staff members at the dyno day last weekend tell me you can get a 4g63T swap for 2K... I laughed.

$2k - perhaps a 4G63t long motor with no accessories, needing a rebuild....

You should contract him to buy you one, 10% finders fee!

How come the 4G63T is so expensive?
I mean, is there a shortage of them, or a high demand for them?
Considering how strong they are I doubt many people would be blowing them?

@Robby Nah, he was talking complete conversion.
And from a supplier I know doesn't sell anything cheap, any way or how.
I stopped pushing him and walked away when I realised I wasn't getting anywhere.

Bought a complete Lancer (4G93) for $800. Fitted new Exedy heavy duty clutch, machined flywheel, water pump, timing belt, new plugs and filters. cost approx. $1300. Then had to replace faulty alternater $250. and fit new exhaust and free flow cat. $400. Motor had X-Force extractors and a good stainless rear muffler on it and a stuffed centre section. did the basic swap in a weekend. My daughter who owns the car did most of it.

Hi everyone. I have read all the posts and still a bit confused. I have a 98 CE 2 door, 1.5 and i have got hold of an RVR4G63T front cut.
It is an AWD auto, is it possible to transplant the engine to the CE? or can i do away with the AWD and go 5spd FWD?
Any tips or links to appropriate threads would be great. Might be hard, or no go but front cut was a bargain. Cheers.

Have a look at Trents Coupe - he's got the 4G63T in a coupe, using a 4WD gear box locked up to just power the front drive shafts (effective FWD gearbox)
So I guess you could lock up your box, but you'd be stuck with an auto. Don't know about manual FWD boxes that will mate up with the G63, and I'm sure that's the reason trent just had his box locked.

EDIT: Oh and yes 100% possible to put a G63 in a CE coupe/mirage/sedan

Hey thanks for that. I was concerned about the orientation, as my 1.5 is on rhs and 4g63 is on LHS. Do they still fit ok, or will i need to fab mounts?

That's a lot of work to get the rvr 4g63 to fit, they use the cc orientation which is the opposite of CE. Aka evo 1-3. The one Trent uses which matches is evo 4-6.

General concensus is that it's way more effort than its worth.
