Hey i need someone who knows a bit about carby’s in CC lancers. My experience with Lancers started after i bought a brand new CE lancer 15 yrs ago, i so I have never owned a carby lancer before, Holden/fords/Chrysler/chev yes...........lancer no.

Step daughter has a 1995 CC lancer auto coupe with 4g15 with carby. It’s only got 130k and is immaculate but had a serious flat spot of idle. I had a quick look at 3 weeks ago and narrowed it down to the carby (AKA: accelerator plunger) after checking all other culprits, and she wants me to fix it, fine i thought.

I rang 5 local parts stores today including repco / autobarn / supercheap and others and they tell me that they don’t make a carby kit for it WTF??

They said fuel miser doesn’t even list it?

As usual went to ebay found these below:

· Carburettor overhaul carby repair kit for Aisan carburettors only does not fit Mikuni carbies ? Mitsubishi Lancer CA, CB, CC 4G15 1.5L 4 1988-1996. For $29.99

· 09/92 - 07/96 MITSUBISHI LANCER CC 1.5L 4G15 SOHC 12v Carb. 4cyl Man 2D Coupe FWD only fits Single Aisan 2 Barrel DIDTA Carb cost $79. 00 from PEC carby kits (precision engine components).

Then another guy i rang said it has a SOLEX CARBY? what, so does anyone know what it might be an Aisan or Mikuni or Solex ?

I haven’t got the car here till next week and wanted to get carby kit before she arrives so no parts delay’s!

How many carby's are fitted to a CC Lancer?

Finally figured it all out, ended up buying a fuel miser AN-128 KIT, turns out the carby is an AISAN 2 barrell DIDTA/VV 2barrell carby (same as some TOYOTA used apparently (Hint) ring fuel miser themselves not repco as they told me the first time they did not have one. The moment i mentioned AISAN carby they said "Oh yer, we might have one for that carby??)

Like you said Wozza, all of the later year ones have this carby, some of the earlier carby's use diff chokes and float bowls (hence difference kits/part numbers) but as this is the most popular kit they still stock it.

Didn't take the carby off, just pulled all the bolt on lines/bits and fuel bowl off then used carby cleaner , air blow, put in new needle/seat and new accelerator pump/fuel filter/gaskets and all good now, daughter says the huge flat spot off idle is gone, starts easy, idles great so all good, thanks for your help on this everyone!

Glad its sorted :) keep your eye out for a good or new choke assembly they deteriorate over time and make the car a fuel sucking pig :)
