Car thinks my door is always shut?

Hi just today, my problem got a lot worse. The driver door thinks it's always shut, so when I open the door, the roof light doesn't come on (yes it's on the correct middle setting), and the headlight reminder beeping doesn't happen (when you open the door and forget to turn the headlights off.)
This happened once before, but i just closed the door and opened it again and it was fine, light came on. But today, it wasn't working completely. If i shut the door and open it about 15 times, the roof light might come on and the beep from the headlights will begin, but if i close and open the door once more, nothing will work again, like the car thinks the door is still closed!

Any one know if there's a door sensor or how it knows the door is open or not?, or what might be the problem??

I have that problem in my Pajero.. I ignore it lol


You can try seeing if the little button on the door is stuck in. Spray some frogs piss in there and give it a go freeing it up.

Ah ok thanks. Yea it was night time when I was looking around for a switch thing, but found it this morning and sprayed some wd-40 around it,. All good now cheers!!
