anybody know where i can find a decent CAI for a cc 1.8??

have tried a few sites but am finding a lot of ce only stuff.

HENS does them for CE's don't they?

Maybe shoot Henry an email and ask if he does CC's.

nah i want an aftermarket one that will run to front bar.

unsure how to make my own. i know if have to buy piping from like autobarn or something and get a filter to chuck on the end but yeah like i said.. unsure how to go about actually putting it together/what pipes to buy and seals etc

i built mine, just got 3in stainless pipe, came in a range of bends bought the ones that would work best. cut pipes to fit. buy silicon hose joiners to put it all together, a pod, and 2 pod adaptors one for pod and one for the pipe were it comes off the MAF

rpw only have ce specified ones that i could see.

might see if i can build one, wild_mr_coupe will prob help me if i ask him :)

Hey Mate, I did mine the other day, its easy.

You just need to buy

- some intake hose from Autobahn or repco or supercheap, its all pretty much the same (the extendy stuff from 300mm to a meter and about 76mm in size, sells for about 25bucks
- hose clamp to fit the hose above^
- hose clamp/zip ites/ tape/ string/ screws however you plan on supporting the pipe on your front bar. (i havent as its a snug fit between the radiator support, front bar mounts and my front bar)

And you need tools to take your front bar off, your battery and the plastic the battery sits on, and your drivers side inner wheel well.

1. Take off front bar
2. Take out battery and plastic battery support pad thing
3. Take out inner wheel well, make sure to pull out all the little clips including one under the front bar.
4. Turn your wheel full lock to the left
5. Looking in your engine bay you will see where the pipe comes out of the air box, down in front of the wheel then U-bends back up into the engine bay.
6. Remove the U-bend by unbolting the pipe held by the bolt that the battery plastic support was covering.
7. Pull the U bend down and out from under neath the wheel well.
8. Slide the new intake pipe over the protruding pipe from the air box, and slide it up so it overlaps about 3-4 inches.
9. Hose clamp it.
10. Run the pipe to where you want in the front bar!
11. Replace battery, front bar, etc...

Then drive it!

I can go take photos if you want?

thanks brendan, pics would be awesome if you feel like taking them, but i can copy kierans just swap sides coz cc is opposite engine mount to ce and just buy opposite pipes :)

i vote talk to hens, he may not have it listed but he has the ability to fab a good one up for u pretty easy, i suspect he could actually use a CE 93 intake he sells and modify it by rotating off the pipes when it starts to go down to the bumper (so its basically mirrored to ce, wouldnt be too hard for him, and i recon it'd cost the same as a ce one anyways

would go alryt i think, and will fit well cos we kno henrys stuff is good quality

"Racing Performance Works Cold Air Induction kit to suit the Mitsubishi 4G93 late model CE vehicles with MAF sensor.

This kit replaces the factory right angle plastic hose, and relocates a K&N Rampod filter (Specific to the MAF Sensor) into the front bumper in front of the passenger front wheel. Comes with all adapters, hose clamps etc, is guaranteed to improve throttle response etc. Being polished aluminium provides great looks, great performance over the standard system.

On some model vehicle the factory MAF wiring harness may need to be lengthened to reach the new location point. This kit uses very large piping for maximum air flow and is for the show car look / high performance applications.

Kit Includes

1. K&N Rampod Filter Specific to the MAF Sensor with adapter.
2. Polished stainless steel piping 2 3/4" diameter
3. Hose clamps and cable ties
4. Choice of blue or red Silicon Hosing
5. Unit does not come supplied with mounting brackets due to large variations in model vehicles - these will need to be made on the car at time of installation."

1.8 = 4G93, which is listed there, under CC. If you notice all of the CAI descriptions are exactly the same.

Maybe if you called them and asked instead of being an internet hero you'd know for sure.

If you want, I'm going upto RPW to investigate in some... stuff :silent: But I could enquire for you, get a price (+pnh) and find out if it'd fit your car... Do you have the 93 or 15?

The RPW kit is just silicone bends and straight pipes

You can make it yourself for alot cheaper

Start by removing this badboy.

Can be a bit hard to pull down as it needs to clear a bolt. A few good yanks and bit of twisting makes all the difference.

I'm going down to the parking lot now to put new inner wheel arch plastics on, ill take some photos for you and put them up if you want.
