Best Performance Shocks?

Need to upgrade my front shocks. I have lowered springs which are great but the ride is horrible on rough roads. Anyone recommend a performance brand or type?

they dont really make any of the adjustable damping shocks anymore for our cars, but once apon a time there were toichiko shocks which had adjustable damping and were bright blue, and there was a brand that did them too and the shock was red coloured maybe it was KYB adjustables.

nowadays you would be hard pressed to find anything other than OEM replacment or a full performance coilover setup

Thanks. To be more specific, I have lowered Lovells springs & I think (standard) gas Monroe struts. I upgraded the shocks before I decided to purchase new springs.

if the shocks are new-ish then keep them till they wear out, i doubt you would find any meaningful gain going to any other shock.

I have spent the last few months looking for performance shocks for CE Lancers. All I could come up with was an adjustable KYB model call the AGX. The cheapest I could find the shock was roughly $320 each!

All reviews I found on these shock are very positive. But non of the reviews are from CE Lancer drivers.

I personally have just have just bought a set of MCA blue coil overs for a little under $1500.

I personally have KYB AGX shocks in my Mirage and WRX but also have the genuine KYB RALLIART Coilovers from the mirage cup car series. Handling and comfort i rate the KYB's highly. The KYB's have good travel which is what you want on the road where as the coilovers dont a lot of travel. I would quite often b able to get on to three wheels. On a racetrack is different the coilovers for sure as racetracks are normally a lot smoother than roads.

I know people who use mca (cant remember which colour mca) on evo's for rally and evo's for road and they rate them extremely highly. The mca's are rebuildable as the kyb agx and most shocks are not. Also the mca are an australian company and they are designed and assembled in australia.

Man , I'm looking for buy a 2nd 2 or 03 coupe with the 1.8 bigblock and manual to make a budget rally / autokhana car. As it would happen, I learnt all about chassis brake beams this weekend been. I'm all torn up now that I have to spend 4k on a cusco or Megan racing brace kit cause all this flexing is going to doom my car to death by vibration. Another vendor said, install the F beam braces in the corners of where each front fender meets the body, do the smaller front and rear box braces that mount to one of the suspension crossmembers and ties the swaybar to it, and same on the rear. install good roll bars front and back, and put one of those weird looking 3 point braces in front of the rear tower brace. and I should be good for body roll. I guess I could always weld up the middle one and the side bars that usually bolt to the chassis rails if I'm so worried. I mean I can only afford either the $400 orange pogo sticks. I guess I could always look for a set of king or Megan springs and replace the shocks with bilsteins. You'd be actually surprised at how well a well sorted shock and spring combo handles, compared to the jarring of coilovers. I just found some tein springs and some cheap 4 set of shock called DNA shocks. I'm just going to put the lowered springs on them, and give them a go as The shipping was over $200 on ebay, and after tearing my hair out for 2 hours, I've finally found a place that stocks them, charges reasonably and has wangled free postage. I'd really love to drive a car, not necessarily a lancer with a braced chassis just to see what all the fuss is??

1.8 bigblock lol

You can buy decent coilovers for 2k why are you looking at Cusco item?
Talk to MCA (linked above) as they may help you out with customized coilovers for your application.

Also please use paragraphing as walls of text are difficult to read and make sense of which ultimately leads to fewer responses for you.
