Aux cable 08 CH ES Wagon

Hey guys,

I have just purchased a 08 CH ES Wagon with the 'type 3' radio in it, I should be able to get a AUX cable kit from a dealer but I was wondering if anyone has sussed out an alternative to get a AUX input, I'm assuming the kit from Mitsubishi just piggybacks the loom and give me a 3.5mm stereo cable to deal with?.

Cheers

Wicked choice on the wagon man!!!

Also skippy you now have another friend!!

As for the stereo its hard to tell, most people here just swap it out for an aftermarket jobbie, with AUX, USB bluetooth and watnot. Plusim guessing the kit from mitsubishi is quite expensive LOL

I would assume the aux kit just gives you a cable to deal with.
Imo, I'd just swap it for a new source unit. Probably costs less too.

x2, new hu, get the features and look you want, they are real cheap nowadays

Thanks for the replies guys.

OT but probably doesn't deserve its own thread, manual talks about genuine roof racks that clip on under the rain/drip channels. do these actually exist or do they still have a hook that goes into the door jam?

i dont know anyone on here that has roof racks on their CH
tryg has some on his cj so he may know might be the same

Hmmm yeah probably is a loom behind there that it hooks into, it would give you either 2x RCA or a 3.5mm jack I would assume. As others have said the OEM loom probably costs more than a cheap new MP3 CD player that already has a front AUX in (assuming you are cable of DIY installing it). Your other option would be to buy a FM transmitter for your iPod/Phone/MP3 player...

If it's in the manual then chances are it exists, I don't think we have any CH owners with roof racks on here so your best bet might be to try calling a dealership and asking their Spare Parts people! Again you could find the part is quite expensive and might be better seeing what Rhino or Rola do for the CH....

On the back of the type3 head unit is an aux jack on the end of a small length of loom (approx 10cm). All you will need is any 3.5mm aux lead with a male connector on both ends. Hope that helps.
BTW I've got an '07 CH wagon too, awesome car IMO.
