My friends 94 lancer has a very annoying problem with the central locking which resulted in a busted drivers door lock and handle.
The key needs to be held on whilst the door is opened and when the key is held in the unlock position you can hear the a actuators trying to lock the doors .
when we are sitting in the car the doors lock themselves so in order to exit the car the we need to hold open the locking tabs while opening the doors haha
Can anyone tell me where to look?? I'm thinking door actuators are stuffed but how do I test them individually?
Also my friend doesn't have a keyfob, so maybe I can disconnect this system from the bcm to bypass the central locking?

my bet is on the aftermarket imobilizer actuator controller not the locks themselves since CC's NEVER came factory with central locking

Thanks but I don't think it has immobilizer as t does not have a button to start the car just the key
How do I bypass or disconnect the immobilizer doodah? Haha

Immobiliser doesn't require a button, it just doesnt let the car start with the key turned unless you've already unlocked the car or disabled the immobiliser via the remote. Most aftermarket kits give you a small flashing light that lets you know whether the immobiliser is active or not. Usually red and located somewhere around the cluster/steering wheel. The immobiliser itself should be located behind the steering wheel amongst your wiring somewhere, you should be able to trace it back from the flashing red light if you have one.

or from the cut on one of the wires from the ignition switch. to remove just reattach the wire that have been cut back to each other. if it hasn't been installed properly this will be extremely easy as finding the cut wires and their matching mate is all you need to do. kinda like a game of memory.

if it was installed properly it maybe abit harder as the trigger wire might run to relays or to other areas of the car. like mine personally has 3 cut points. it's technically a 2 stage imobilizer (2 cuts) but i've set it up so that one trigger is the gimmie would be thief finds bypasses thinks they're good but really there's still two more on the other circuit. make it really really hard to get in and out fast.

my gimmie is on the ignition the other two i won't say but lets just say that they're a long way from the alarm covered in conduit and change colors along the way so to really follow the you need more than 5 minutes or tools a thief normally would not carry.

i want to set it up so that if one trigger goes dead i get an alert on my phone but atm i just CBFd

One way to disable the central locking is to remove the fuse, if you can find it. Then each door will lock and unlock on it's own, but it depends how the immobilize is set up.
They are usually separate fuses for the immobilizer or alarm.

My fuse is behind the little panel next to the accelerator but you best bet is to get an expert to check it out or you could immobilize your friends ride.

you are aware that some alarms/immobilizers if they loose power lock into immobilized mode right? ie he pulls said fuse and the relays that allow power to flow through to his starter etc are open no power = no starty. a good immobilizer uses a N-O relay (no charge = normally open) and then when deactivated close

That's why I said see and expert is your best option, especially since it sounds like something is broken or not connected right.
