6a13tt or 4g63 ?

Which engine would be cheaper to install and what would I need? Replacing 4g15 motor manual and not looking for AWD, though I believe it's an option but not cheap.

Or would it be cheaper just to turbo the 4g15?

before i spend a lot of time detailing the difference on the conversions: whats your budget? who's doing the install / wiring / any fab etc?

Fabrication sounds like a bit of a downer for me as I live in the bush I might have to outsource that somehow. I've mostly worked on commodores and rb30 engines, new to mitsubshi motors. I do have 2 mechanics who can help me as for wiring I've done loom swaps before without any problems but anything like fabrication I may have to outsource. About 5-7k would be budget for now until I get some more info if I need to rethink my budget plans.

It'll be a daily driver not race track car.

I can get discount from vendors so I can source parts at at a cheaper price on some things instead of paying retail.

ok factoring in minimizing fabrication and the budget: neither are a good option for you.

4g63 will be mostly bolt in but i'd estimate it would cost 10k or so, especially in this climate.
6a13 requires some minor fiddling to get it all in, but VR4 motors are getting expensive and/or needing a lot of preventaive maintenance and turbo rebuilds. the upside is the 6a13 will bolt to the CE gearbox, so you only need to source a FTO driverside mount.

turbo the 4g15: if it pops replace it with another and keep going -> youll need to wait for a turbo kit to pop up otherwise you'll be piecing it together and the pipes will need fab'in. but i'd set a realistic ceiling to it. ei: a max psi or drivable with a certain tyre size or build a motor and stuff what ever boost you can into it with a decent cam and call it a day. if you chase a power figure itll never be enough and you'll be throwing money at it.

or delve deeper into 4g93/4g64/4g69 swaps.

I’d vote for a 69 swap if youre looking to stay under 7k and not need to fabricate.

You should be easily able to source the parts, and if you’re happy to ditch AC and power steering there’s definitely enough money left over for a standalone ecu with a flash tune for plug and play install.

Like Paulie said, I dont think you’ll get a 63 long block and accessories for sub 10k thats worth pissing on
