4x100 to 5x114.3 questions

I'm very close to tackling swapping the CH VRX bits onto my CG VRX to convert from 4x100 to 5x114.3 and also convert to rear disc.

I've trawled lots of forum posts both here and stateside regarding this and I thought I had it all covered, however I hadn't considered the ABS. My CG hasn't got it, and the CH does. I'm sure physically it all still mounts up as it is the same chassis.

Can anyone advise regarding what to do with the ABS? what are my options? I was ready to tackle it but now it seems as if i have to swap absolutely everything over, including ECU, mount the ABS module, booster, master cyl, all hard lines, CVs etc.
I really hope there's a shortcut here, lol.

to elaborate, both are 2.0 VRXs, so there's no mixing and matching 4g69 stuff, however I do have concerns about needing to also swap the harness to facilitate the ABS and really hope that's not required.

You will need full engine loom, ecu, abs modules, hard lines ect.

Unfortunately nothing is pre-installed, and the ABS module is on the passengers side, so very far away from the regular mounting of normal lines.

That's what I was worried about. I suppose the real question is do I need to bother with all of the ABS *poo*e?

In my non ABS ch:

The only place it’s consistently locked up was on the track, coming off a 120-140kph straight into a tight hairpin, I’d pickup the inside rear and it’d lock ever so lightly.

Other occurences have been a result of old, bald tyres and concrete roads.

In a 2.4 CH with ABS, only really had it kick in on loose surface roads. This has standard 195 tyres on it. Constantly drove that spiritedly.

I would say it’s non essential for a CH with good tyres and a confident driver. It did not also adversely affect a car to have it installed, both brakes similarly.

If you already have the wreck and heaps of free time, give it a crack. At least take the system out of the donor car and you’ll find out what’s involved.
