4G93 swapped lancer?

Hi, currently have a 4G15 in my lancer and want to swap to a 4G93 and then turbo that. will be doing this in about a year or so and am wondering how much I'd need to save with money and what problems I may run into? Hoping for a DOHC one specifically. Let me know if anyone has done this and if you can offer any assistance that would be greatly appreciated.
 
Hey mate, the standard SOHC 93 swap is well-documented and relatively easy with some mechanical knowledge, a mate and some prior planning. The whole swap is really well documented here: https://www.mirageforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=48869

Turbo'ing the 93, have a look on the 'CE turbo guide' thread on here, but generally is made up of a reflashed or aftermarket ecu, a t25/28 style turbo, log manifold, WRX STI injectors, dump pipe, front mount with plumbing and oil and water feed lines with a few other bits depending on taste.

As far as going for a DOHC, the standard 4G93 in DOHC form has a turbo, and is set up for a CC lancer chassis. A close mate of mine has done the swap and while it is very cool, even he says that it was a bit of a ballache, running into various clearance issues surrounding things you wouldn't think of at the time. Yes it can be done, but personally, I would have a look into getting the standard 93 in and running, then look into a 4G92 head. They are becoming hard to come by, but really opens the engine up and will scream all the way up to 8K rpm
 
Been done a tonne of times, the forum search function is really good for this.
G93 swap can be from $200 up to $2k~, depending on if you replace/restore necessary parts. If youre turbo'ing it, you will definitely need a new clutch as the stock one will last about a week due to the increased torque.
Turbo set up will be form $2k to about 8k, again depending on how cheap you want to do it.

Unless you get a CE GSR DOHC motor which is correctly set for a CE.
Which I have, but are rarer than the CC ones.

Far better off putting the extra $$$ into the SOHC motor, maybe to a rebuild it, better internals, cam, porting, ect. Get the benifit out of the turbo conversion.

Or SOHC swap it, get the turbo conversion done. Safe tune it.
Work on the internals later.

DOHC motors are cool and all, but if I had to do it again. I’d gave done a built SOHC motor. Milked the power, bought a LSD for it and not worried about destroying a rare engine. Can always buy another SOHC motor for a few hundred dollars, rather than a few grand for a DOHC if you can find it.
