4G93 head swap?

Dumb question but can I take the head of my 4G93p and put it on my 4G93, basically leaving the same block in the car?

I know it's probably easier to just swap the engine but given you need to much with the drive shafts and suspension to get it to come out, then you need to deal with other stuff I'm just wondering if it's a viable option since they are the same block.

The difficulty in swapping heads is you have to change the head gasket and most likely get the new head machined to suit old block.

Changing a head is just as hard if not harder than swapping a motor.

Just do the motor and box swap. Don't go opening up the engine and the potential can of worms.

I was just throwing it out there,

Guess the upside of a engine swap (apart from not stuffing with the engine internals) is you'd do things like the clutch at the same time.
Theoretically it's probably quicker to swap the engine.

Does the Proton 4G93p have better pistons than ones in the Lancer 4G93?
I heard they are ready for turbo upgrade, not that I'm considering that.

The internals are exactly the same as the SOHC

Same rods as the turbo, but different pistons

head swap you'll need the head loom timing belt head-gasket (a service on the head not cheap!)

yes you can do it no it's not as much work as doing the whole engine (which you could do while leaving the gearbox in the car) but you will incure extra costs in preparing the head to be placed on the engine
