4g69 headers

^seems pics didnt work^
Long story long, cut my own flange since no one makes them, mated it to 4g94 headers.

Lot of work. Looked really nice. Didnt clear starter motor.

Went and bought an outlander header (diameter a bit small)
Modded 4g94 midpipe to fit oncar with magnaflow 300 cell cat to standard CH rear exhaust.

Nice job. Looked good, o2's where they needed to be.

Sounded like a giant blowfly inside a giant riced out milo tin.

Nearly went mad and wasted a large portion of my 2 week state imposed construction industry layoff chasing non-existant exhaust leaks.

Possibly some bottom end torque increase though, not sure.Defo needs some kind of absorbtion muffler incorporated into it to tone down high frequency rice noises.

Changed it back to stock, best thing i have ever done.

And so ends the great headers on stock exhaust experiment.

Reason it took so long is because of work and single dad commitments, especially this being my baby seat car.

Anyways, massive waste of timebut now i know. i did it so you dont have to.

If i was to do it again i would buy RPW, or make 4-2-1 headers from scratch and add a hot dog to stock or gut and tamper with rear muffler (or go complete new exhaust).

So i found out the source of the buzzy noises on stock system with headers is the funny resonator thing halfway up.

Since my last post i chucked in a "turbo muffler" which sounded great, so put the headers back on and buzzing came back, but not as bad. Then chucked in the biggest reso i cpuld find (3×5×18"), and it sounds amazeballs. Crisp burbly, but subdued, sounds mean af with my foot all the way up it.

It is amazing how much muffling the front half of the exhaust does, I think mainly the squish pipe under the cross member (and cats of course), if you take the heat shields off it has some funky angles going on.
