2005 VRX CH Starting Failure

Heh guys, just need some guidance find the cause of my CH VRX not starting? It only clicks with no turn-over of engine. Battery 100%, fitted another starter motor BUT same behaviour (NO start). What am I missing? Prior to this, the starter always made a rather 'tinny/rasp' noise on starting BUT now no start.
Appreciate any useful advice/checks to diagnose fault.
 
Hey mate, just confirming your condition is NO crank & NO start?

What happens to the dash lights when you try to start it?

Is everything else normal?
 
Well prompted by your reply, YES ..... NO crank & NO start. The dash lights remain illuminated (as per normal) however,,,,,,
after a couple of start attempts it STARTED. Interestingly the same raspy/tinny noise on start-up with a replacement starter motor.
Maybe it's something else? To restore my faith, it needed a couple of NO start/key turns to fire up again? Weird.......
 
Hmm dash lights should switch off during cranking…

Might be an issue with the ignition barrel/ignition switch.
 
Ah yes, that's what occured with my '04 CH.....should have remembered?
It's a $25 fix with a replacement switch block indeed.
