1.8 to 1.5 Transmission Swap

So ive got an old 1.5 coupe in the garage and a 1.8 sedan daily, I was thinking off removing the 1.5 gearbox and swapping it into the sedan.

Will it be a straight swap or will I have any issues?

This will be my first major job on the car, any special tools needed?

Both stock, manual transmission.

it will bolt on but you need to use eithe rthe 1.5 flywheel or the 1.8 flywheel.. something like that, i dont remember which way it goes, but yes it will work

You must match the fly wheel to the motor & therefore use the clutch for the motor, not the box. So you will need to retain clutch and flywheel from your 1.8 when you bring over the 1.5 box.

Gregorys/Haynes and the Mistu workshop manuals will be your friend. If doing at home, get an engine brace to support the motor from above, get some tall jack stands and a low level trans trolly/trans lifter. Your life will be so much easier.
