Hello all!
I am after some advice for someone who has coil-overs on their 02 lancer vrx, I have just purchased some from maxspeedingrods and not sure what ride height I should put on the front and rear (tried to find factory shock size and couldnt find any info) just so i can get a closer fit, I am almost certain that ill get ride height very wrong but for preload I have done the rear 2 the same and I will do the front 2 the same as well, but any useful info on what i should be aiming for would be amazing! :)
(Im running 17x7.5 enkei sc46’s if that helps :p )

cheers!

I can get the stock ride height and stock vrx ride height tomorrow when I get home, the cg vrx is 25mm lower then standard, I can also get you the height to the tops of the front and back guards using 30mm lower then stock if that helps.
A lot depends on the following.
What offset are the wheels?
What size tyres are you running as well
What tyre size height and width?
Best you can do is aprox setting, then it’s fine tune from there with height and preload, no magic setting unfortunately.

Ok, remember these heights are aprox only. If you fitted say 30 mm lowered springs to your 02vrx then the height from the top lip of guard to bottom lip of mag only should be front 565mm and rear 555mm aprox, because your using coilovers you can adjust from there, just do say 5mm drops at a time, then work out what stance you want from there. Eg: back higher, front lower or level.
I don’t know what preload you setting on dampening, but trial and error is the best way.

You might want to have a read some of my previous suspension postings below:

Thank you so much for the info!
Ive put in the rear struts so far and its actually raised the car, which is the opposite of what i was wanting!
I think my plan is to take it to a fabrication shop and get them to cut the stem and re-weld it to make it lower as when its fully lowered its taller than the original strut but as for the front they have more adjustability and ive learned a fair but just doing what ive done so far so it should be all good! Thank you though!!
