Wiring a FTO Cluster using Mirage/Lancer body wiring. 6a12 V6 Swap info Manual gearbox version

Having recently done this swap and everything working as should thought I'd save everyone the hassle of comparing wiring diagrams between the two cars.

Some wires will need to be extended I dont have note of what one's but it will be clear when doing the swap.

There will be some wires left over on the Lancer/Mirage side as the wiring is pre installed for Auto pretty sure I had 7/8 unused wires at the end I just cut these out and blanked with electrical tape (no power goes through these they go to an unused plug for the Auto ECU)

Having a spare set of plugs to change over one by one instead of pulling all the wires out will make this swap extremly easy.

**** This is for keeping the original Lancer/Mirage body loom and not fitting FTO Loom over as some people do when carrying out this conversion ****

They are the exact same plugs here are the pins numbers

End result should look something along the lines of this.

This is going to save me a great deal of pain shortly.
Fto gpx 6a12m auto
Ce 4g93 manual mirage
Just going thru the body harness *poo* currently.
The dash cluster I just lined up and clipped in and assumed they would work (stupid but hopeful)
So I'm guessing that even after I do.all the body harness awsomeness I'll have to repin the dash plugs ?

if you plan on using the FTO cluster then yeah you will need to de-pin and re-position the brown and blue plug. I never bothered looking up all the auto shift lights as mine is a manual but if your struggling I can look up the diagrams and help you out

Mines manual but the donor was auto. I just modified the back wall of the dash enclosure to fit the plugs. I haven't responded any as it just plugged in..... Was going to turn on and see how it goes ha ha

My 02 manual mirage had the wiring there for auto at the cluster plugs as seen in the OP that goes down to the unsued plug in front of the gear stick so you might be lucky not sure if all years had the extra wiring or not

Yeh no auto shifter wiring on the mirage side. My fto loom had it (I unclipped everything from shifter to interior connectors to wiper motor and more. Fto having different body loom connectors made my life harder. But I'm working thru that. I did a abs delete (due to 5stud conversion not being abs, and I'm in nz so abs delete is ok, don't hate :)

But I did a rough side by side with old dash plugs and they looked good. I was going to just try and see how I go. Getting a manual cluster will be a later on thing.

I cut the Mirage 1.5 4g15 engine harness plugs off and the FTO body harness plugs off (I had a complete FTO Donor) and made a custom harness adaptor thats plug and play. so if I ever decide to do a differnt engine swap down the line just unplug that custom adaptor and mirage is back to stock. apart from cluster plugs

If you haven't seen my build thread its here you can see in one of the pics the adaptor im making in its ruff early stage

Havent updated it in a while or taking seperate pics of the harness as I'm going to de-pin remove the extra / unused wiring so its a nice 1 unspliced wire between the plugs

I've moved no looms form the FTO over using original Mirage fuse boxes engine bay looms and interior I know some people like to swap it all over as it's "easier" but this isnt a bad way going about it either if you can read wiring diagrams

I just have the ftonengine loom and some of the interior. But I'm using the mirage fuseboxes etc. So seems like same thing. Yeh I'll definatly head over.

Seems like the only real difference is Im not doing plug and play addaptors. I'm depinning mirage plugs and putting fto ones in.

Realy left I've got interior fusebox to engine bay fusebox. And the body harness plug(the big one near battery) and a few odd ecu ones. And should be good.

I done the same thing with the engine bay harness cut the FTO plug and the mirage plugs. will have some spare wires again from the fto plug such as from the top of my head the brake level warning light as the FTO goes through that plug down the passenger side but the mirage has it in its body loom down the drivers side. you should only need to wire an extra wire for the oil pressure switch as that was in the 1.5 engine loom unlike the fto engine bay loom where it has the 3 plugs for power steering / AC / Oil pressure. The mirage only has the 2 wires down that side for power steering and A/C if that makes sense I'll look out pictures of my harness ive made up to help you with a more plug and play approach when you take this on

I did a ac delete. As nz it's cool :) and less to work on. But yeh will be hitting up ur guide as it means I won't have to work it out :)

well you wont need to put an additional wire down there as you will already have a spare one there haha just know what pin it goes to and swap it at the plug :)

so 2 plugs on the left from the 1.5 engine loom and the one on the right from the fto engine bay loom to make it plug and play. this combo wakes up the engine control relay, alternator to charge, power steering switch, A/C ect ect this isnt a finished harness as I havent wired up the oil pressure switch yet as can be seen the pink isnt connected to anything

A13 (FTO Plug)
Pin 1 White/Green Alternator
Pin 3 Black/White A/C Compressor Relay
Pin 5 Red Alternator
Pin 6 Blue/White Power steering oil pressure switch
Pin 7 White/Black Engine control relay pin
Pin 10 Black/Yellow Radiator/condensor fan relays
Pin 11 Limegreen Brake fluid level sensor
Pin 12 Pink/Blue Oil pressure switch

Yeh I depinned the alternator pins and plugged into mirage 2pin plug. The rest I hadn't worked out yet. Left it for a after I'm running.

Where did u put co2 sensor ? ( Where did u go out from car)

Drilled a hole in the floor. the clip the FTO sensor comes with clips in nice with a 25mm hole used a step drill attachment made light work of it some paint round the bare metal and good to go
