hi all
i amplanning on lowering my 2016 lancer.
which is a better spring to use??
cost isnt an issue
i want about 30mm drop.
any other suggestions are welcome

I’ve always used King springs, I’ve heard good things about Lovell’s springs as well.

Agree that king springs are good, I've tested a lot of spring combinations from different manufacturers over the last 4 years, depending on what you want from the car, if you want a reasonably comfortable ride and good handling, just get the king low 30mm, any lower and you will start to compromise ride comfort dramatically.

30mm is what i want to achieve. Thanks for the feedback.

Do i need new shocks/struts to go with the springs??
Also any good cost effective coilovers recommended

You don’t need to get new shocks, but the stock ones will wear quicker if you don’t.

If you do get both new shocks and springs, expect to pay close to 1K for it all.
That then brings you fairly close to the cost of a reasonable set of coilovers anyway. You could get a set of BC Racing BR Golds for about $12-1300. Or some MCA coils too which I’m told are worth the extra coin.

I’d make a few calls or send a few emails to get some firm numbers.

Thanks for reply
I can get a whiteline grip kit which includes springs and sway bars and bracing which apparently is quite good. Thats from mrt performance
I cam get bc racing for 1200
Or
Mca or pedders xa coilovers for about 1600.

The whitline grip installed will set me back 1200 or so installed.

Os it worth getting swaybars and such with lowering springs
Or
Just get coilovers

I had pedders xa xtreme coikovers on my old ce and was magic.

It's up to you really.

I know for myself, I'd be happy with a decent set of coilovers.
I'd probably do sway bars once I get used to the coilovers.

Thanks again for help

Mca vs bc vs pedders xa xtreme
Which would be better?
I have only ever used pedders so that all i know.
Sway bars will do later if i feel i need em. I hvae the oem ones in there.
Am 100% getting a whiteline strut brace from mrt to stiffen front up a little.
Any advice is appricated

I’ve had BC BR Golds in the mirage now for 5 years, they’ve been good so far and I’ve been quite happy with them. Done plenty of track days on them too.

But after some advise and praise from other members here the next car will have MCA’s.

I had pedders xa xtreme coilovers in my mirage before it was rode off by a speeding hilux. They were awsome but that was a while ago.
MCA i hear are better and hear good things about the bc coilovers.

Will look into the mca ones and see what pricing i can source. Having trade accounts sure help with cost :)
