Wheel and Tyre Question/Information Thread

What car is it? Pretty small profile, moderate offset. I cant imagine it being a problem just thinking of my ch as reference. Worst case a moderate roll perhgaps. Hopefully someone with more idea on specific models will chime in.
It should look tough as.
Can you please report back on the AR1's?
Ive been thinking about chucking them on my trackday car for some time.
Sorry yeah, should put in it’s for a ce mirage, I have heard lots of good things about the ar1’s whether it’s on the street or track, but I’m keen to try them out

bringing this back from the dead, couldn't find it even after searching so ill ask here, 15x8 +28 rays gram light 57cr's with either a 195 or 205/50/15 Nanking ar1. will i need to roll/pump the guards to get the wheels under or will they be sitting right on the edge, this set up will mainly be used for track days so im not too fussed if the poke, but only the tinniest bit

Have had 15x8 +32 buddyclubs p1 sf with 3mm spacers on the rear with the 205/50 sizes and the guards needed a slight roll. The lip doesnt need to be folded all the way back but probably about half way

Yeah it seems the rear trailing arm is a bit of a pain in the ass when it comes to fitting wide wheels, I might go with a set of Advan RG-D2’s which I can get in a 15x7.5 +40 and then run a slip on spacer to steer clear of the trailing arm, but it’s good to know that I could get away with a 15x8 if I change my mind again ahahahah

It should clear without it but having the extra 3mm to make it essentially +29 helps.. so 15×8 +28 should be perfectly fine

Hi all

2002 Mirage
15x7 +35 Rota Slipstream

Would I run into any issues at stock height? How about if I lower an inch?

Looking to 'fill the gap' a little and look presentable, but I don't want something that barely fits, or rubs at full lock etc.

Any other recommendations for a 15" wheel would be great. I'd gladly have something narrower than a 7" rim - seems overkill.

I actually have those exact wheels, fit nicely, if you do run 205 / 50 on them, they will ever so slightly rub the gaurds if lowered 1.5" or more, they do clear the bigger 276mm twin caliper brakes and rear discs, if you have the stock front brakes and drums then you will have total clearance

This was when The car was 1.5" (rough guess) lower, i now have the wheels slightly tucked under the fender, although you will need the gaurds rolled if you sit as low as my car now

Yeah - nice
I really like the design. Would 205/50 be closest to the original rolling diameter or is there a better option to keep close to OE?

I’ll either stay standard height, or at the very most drop 1” - so I should be safe then.

205/50 will be close to the oe rolling diameter,
Yeah you will be safe regardless of the height unless it’s dropped below 1.5”
I also like the design, plus 15” is a bonus as I like having the look of extra meat on the tyres, don’t like the rubber band look from 17 - 18” wheels

Ok interesting. Looks great on the car for sure.

Calculator tells me that'll add about 11mm to my diameter and throw the speedo out 1.8%. 195/50 would be almost perfect, but likely be a bit stretched on a 7"?

You won’t notice the speedo difference. I sit on 110 and never got a speeding fine on the highways
Currently I run cheap 195/50 and they fit almost perfect, 205/50 is a bit over stretched but still fits with no issues

So I’ve ended up ordering Rota Grid (white) in 15x7 +38.

Tyre calculator tells me that a 195/50 15 will be an almost perfect match for OE diameter/circumference so I think I’ll go with that. Shouldn’t look ‘stretched’ at all on a 7” rim?

Do you have 195 or 205 on your slipstreams? Sorry was a bit confused with a couple of the replies.

Sorry to bump an old thread,

Looking at getting a wheel+tire setup like the image below on my CH, what should I be running?
For reference this civic is running Dekagram 15x7.5 +35 and 205/50/15

Thanks!

Not yet, buying both at the same time
fair nuff. personally i think the overall diameter of the stock CH wheel tyre package is too small for the body. theres probably only one CH that looks the business...sdates and he runs upsized tyres.

i'd be going up one size on the profile: ie: run a 205/50/16 instead of a xxx/45/16 tyre.

so if stock is a 185/50/15...go for a 205/55/15.

......legally: ehhhh not advised. but looks way better.

i run a 205/50/16 on my coupe instead of a 205/45/16 for the same reason. looks way better imo

And what rim sizing should I look at getting?
