Wastegate/Dump pipe issues ;)

So having this issue with the boost struggling to go up to 10psi smoothly with the Wastegate gases going back into the exhaust.
With the wastegate dumping to atmosphere the boost seems to hit 10psi without struggling and feels like it accelerates much faster
Yes it’s a knockoff turbosmart wastegate which seems to be one issue
Now I have a photo below of how the Wastegate gases go into the exhaust. And how it’s welded together
I feel like this HAS to be a major flaw of the exhaust

I think it might be trying to overboost. I put the controller back to 0 and put it 3 clicks. It gets up to 9 psi WOT but smoothly now. Even slowly accelerating it seems to go up just fine. I’ll have to replace the wastegate at one point but for now it works
 
you want to put somewhere around a 45-degree angle to the wastegate to dump pipe, or where ever its plumbed into
