Turbo for the CH Mivec 4G69

A friend of mine has just finished building his turbo kit for his CH MIVEC he has also managed to crack the ECU as well so a reflash is now going to be available for the car... all exciting news but you have to wonder as to how many people that drive these cars really want this level of mods I mean these days we are all told "don't waste your money buy a EVO..." but if the kit came cheap enough would it still be a viable option for people to consider..

I have gone off the car scene for a while due to certain reasons but even now people are still asking the same questions - "what do you think of these rims..." nothng wrong with the question just people seem more interested in the look of there car rather than speed... am I correct in assuming this ?

Anyway will keep people posted on this info if they want... the kit looks great and it works he did a similar kit for another guy and he got 259hpatw and that was on a reflashed ecu...

below is a pic of the manifold

It is under $5k this includes pretty much everything including reflash which is about $10k less than another company...

Do it Jeffaz, make WA the how of the turbo'd CH (or CH engine :p)

Thats pretty good, what turbo does it run? or What flange for that matter? T3 or T25?

im gonna start saving my pennies :D

Nice! good to see you guys finally came thru with the turbo kit! nice to see the reflash is finished also, sadly its too late for me as my lancer has been and gone but if i still had it this would deffs be going into it!

Would you be able to reflash the ecu of the ch for like more power from basic mods eg exhaust etc??? Because apparently the 69 engine has a really *poo* factory tune and a good reflash can bring the stock ate figure (about 91kw) up to about 110kw. Plus throttle response and fuel efficiency (which is defs needed!). Is something like that possible??? If so I would defs be up for a reflash.

Once the software is 100%tested and ready we will be looking for a company to be a distributor. We have been re flashing the 4g69 for over 2 years now but due to shipping times it makes sending ecus back and forth unreasonable.

just got word from Brent that they have tuned the new kit at a mild and very safe 6psi with no issues at all - so next step is upping the psi - pics look good too... will post some more later.

its snowing here have to wait untill the roads clear up.....the tune is almost done but it does pull like a beast
here are some of the abuse pics..........

Quick update the tune is done and the group buy should begin in the next few weeks.

May I also draw your attention to a new product about to be released...... www.spdispark.com have a look and let me know your thoughts or questions.

Get a reputable source to do before and after testing. I wouldn't be buying on of these kits for $1200ish without some sort of proven performance and economy improvement. A hot lil brunette in a youtube video clip telling me how great it is doesn't cut it for me...

It does something for me.. mmm women talkin about car parts :) but doesnt make me want to buy the product

Ryan you are correct. We have tested for fuel economy in cold weather -32C. Here is a post on the Ottawa Mitsubishi Forum for the vehicle owner 4b12 CVT Trans....

UPDATED TUNE!!! (With large man in seat)

ALRIGHT!!!! SO Time to update this baby...Met up with Brent today after work and he tweaked around with the SPDI spark and then we went around for a spin. Pretty significant difference from where I was before...With his huge butt in the car we got these numbers....

40km/h --> 6.5 L
60km/h --> 6.6 L
80km/h --> 6.1 L
100km/h --> 6.8 L
120km/h --> 8.2L

I will re-record some new numbers without Wolverineottawa slowing me down lol! as soon as I get a chance....probably this weekend.

Overall so far so good...its even MORE sensitive than before...picks up a lot faster...From my previous numbers city driving was sitting around 7.2-8L/100km and now its around 6....highway has improved a lot as well...on my trip to TO we were looking at 10-10.5 which was pretty much regular with just the Works tune...now down to 8ish is pretty sexy....

So far I am pretty impressed, lookin forward to the spring when things start to warm up so we can get some sexier numbers!!!! In the mean time I'll post up an update asap with just solo driving...or a lighter passenger biglol
THANKS BRENT~!!! LOVE YOU LONG TIME BIG PASSENGER!!!! lol! biglol

He is referring to my huge butt...I am 6'0" 255lbs and my butt is not that big. Now we want warm weather numbers as the vehicles here drink alot of fuel in our winters and we got those numbers in the cold, I expect to see them go down even further in the warmer weather. Next is to push the tuning as far as we can take it. With the spark profile the cylinder pressure will built faster BTDC allowing more timing and more power. Again we need to test the tuning on this platform.

Also we did a Subaru STI and this car has many bolt on mods and a good tune from a very reputable tuner near Ottawa. We gained 12hp and 15tq from 1500-4500rpm and 4hp and 5tq from 4500-6200rpm. The curves came on much quicker and were very smooth. We did not get a chance to do fuel economy testing on the Suby as it was on a dyno but we have a customer that is getting the system and will help us on fuel economy testing.

On my Audi 1.8T its going to a tuner next week. I can tell you gas has dropped and is comparable to the Lancer numbers. (It is a bit higher heavier car and a turbo)

I have sent Henry an email and I asked him if he would be interested in doing some testing in Australia for us. I will let you know what he response is......

We are still in the testing for the Lancer but so far so good. Before and after numbers will be provided once we get to the power stage of testing right now its just fuel mileage.

How possible is it to get my 4g69 mivec ecu reflashed, staying na for now just would love the little extra power and fuel economy I've read it can produce? How much would it cost me?
