Sound Deaden Engine Bay

Like to be able to silence the heater - air conditioner

Then maybe remove the A/C & heater core, fit a Dyson Airblade into the heater box and seal up the unit? Use the remote to switch between hot and cold? :p Fans are always noisy, Im curious to see if you come up with something cost effective as a solution.

Couple of maybes' circulating my mind!! Will look into it when ready.

At first I thought this whole thing was pretty comical, but now I'm rooting for you to get it under 30db in there. Go'oooon son!

I too am rooting for the quiet ride!

Ever thought about replacing the carpet with thick lucious fluffy stuff? Full rolls Royce floor mat spec.

By the way those db figures in the 30s are just at idle and anything under 36db, should you manage that. could be considered silent, premium.

"All you can hear is the clock ticking" Old Rolls Royce add:

Wish someone would produce molded carpets for the CJ, all other model lancers appear to be available, but not CJ, either here or USA, might try and check Asian markets!
Have to make do with good under carpet replacement. And that was at road speed.

Check Asian or get in contact with an auto carpet maker, they might be able to make you one?

You could always try those spray on lizard skins?
I remember watching a series where a guy built an LS3 MAZDA MX5 and he used a spray sound deadener. Wasn't the cheapest but also apparently worked a treat. He pulled the carpet out and wiring moved and went bananas and reckons he really limited the road noise.

Have already used spray on sound deadener under cabin floor, plus rest of under floor area where practical.
Internally, will, when I get there, be using Dynamat (no smell) then soft under felt type sound deadener under carpet.

Under back seat already done when I did boot. Wheel arches are next, intend using spray on or brushed on sound deadener
on the initial cover and areas behind it, where moister reaches , then maybe change to patches of Dynamat and closed cell foam in dry areas?

Next job though is, paint, and fit Talon rear diffuser that I bought. Considering twin outlet 2.5 inch muffler, instead of using dummy second outlet.
