so i have decided that im gonna keep the lancer trim the interior and make in2 a show car i plan on keeping this car for a long time but i was wondering if anyone has ever rebuilt the 4g93 or have they just went out n bought a 2nd hand motor as i would really not do that and rebuild the motor i have when the time comes

I didn't rebuild it, too much $$$$ involved to rebuild as if I did, I would have oppt for stronger internals.

Do you have experience in rebuilding?

I don't, so I would get my mechanic to do it.

nahh not really much experience jst adding up if its better 2 rebuild d motor when the time comes or get a another used 1 wit less kms id rather rebuild it but im guessn itll b much more expensive

just get another motor way cheaper i recon, for the price of a rebuild u could probably buy a brand new evo engine

probly not an evo but maybe a 4g93T

yeh i spose, evo engine with T last time i checked was 3.4K
pretty sure it was with the front AWD diff aswell

thats what my dream is ^_^ awd CE

yeh, it needed zaust from dumpy back, all electrical, EMS, diff at the back wheels drive shaft etc etc....
so yeh ontop of 3.4K i recon there is a good 5K+ on top of that
would cost a heap but its my dream :D
be cheaper and better to buy an evo 8 tho

would be more then 10k mate. thats why next to none of us have done it

yeh your probably right

i do remember someone did an awd mirage on MLGA not sure what engine it had tho
or maybe they planned on doing it... dunno saw it ages ago

with the evo gear its a lil bit more then just dropin it in, not many ppl can do it them self

You'd have to do alot of fab work on the floor pan to get the driveshaft and rear diff in wouldn't you to go AWD?? Which would cost alot...

As for the OP unless your wanting to do a performance upgrade and change internals during the build then economically it probably makes more sense to pick another motor up....

Or why not get an FTO 6cylinder into there? They sound mean with the right exhaust

im with ryan with this. a 6a12 N/A are perfect in lancers

its what i want too look at getting when im off my p's

Rebuild:

Rings 90 or thereabouts
Bearings 10-30 for a pack
Gaskets 150-200
Fluids maybe 100?
Hone 80

And you should be good to go. Just remember to not forget to plastigauge your oil clearances..

A rebuild in general will bring back some HP if the engine has a fair few k's on it.

Yeah but labour is going to be the killer if he doesn't know how to do all of that....
