Hi I recently got new ignition and key and now it will only wind but won't start.fuel injected mechanism is clicking when turn the ignition.the immobilizer must be stop the pump or the injectors.how can fix this problem so my car is running again.if anyone could me I'd really appreciate it.

Hi there,

For the car to start, the ECU must recieve an “okay” signal from the imob unit. This is acheived by a matching imob and key set. The ignition barrel is a sinple switch, nothing special about it, however if you removed/replaced this, its possible the wires to the key reader or imob were damaged and this will not allow the key to be read. In turn the imob will not pass on the “okay” and the ecu will not allow injectors to fire.

Re-check what you have changed, test power supplies and connections.

FYI this has been covered before, check out some of the other theeads with the same name for more quick and easy info incase no one is able to reply.

If you've changed the key and barrel then you need to change the immobilzer unit too.
The old immobilzer unit won't accept the new keys chip. They must be matching.
The immobilzer unit is located behind the dash above the radio, it's a dash out job.

So if you can, get the immobilzer from the car you got the key and barrel from.

Usually when you see them for sale, you get the ECU, Immobilzer, door locks, key, key barrel and key reader as a set.

I do these for race cars with push button start as same problem as yours. If you want the immobiliser removed I can do this. Even if you are on the other side of the country.

Otherwise the immobiliser module and key need to be matching at least.
