Getting that extra .1 of a second.

Run stock rims dude or something smaller than the 17's. Decreasing centripital force required to launch will increase available torque and get it up and going quicker.
Lucky for me my 17's weigh less than my stocks :D.

Oh, go true drag-style and take a headlight out.

So you want to go faster and don't want to spend any money...?

Strip the entire car.

Pretty much your only option that is legal.

:p what about removing the A/C?

That'll do nothing. When its not engaged it does sweat *fudge* all.

Lucky for me too, my rims weight pretty much the same, may be a tad lighter.
I might take out the headlight and do a long ram intake. :p

OH and to clear things up, i don't mind spending some money, i just don't want to spend $1000's as the car will be sold soon.

try unbolting your exhaust? just take it all out after the midpipe or cat?

Have heard of good gains out of 4L fords doing this

Removing the intake piping would just saturate intake temps and you'd lose power. Removing exhaust piping would probably lose you too much low-mid torque.

Removing air con, power steering belt, etc and even an underdrive pulley would help. Even fuel, I find my car runs best on Vpower or BP ultmate, vortex 98 makes mine more sluggish. Lighter weight synthetic oils and regular servicing will also help.

Getting the knack to a good quick takeoff wld do you wonders though!!

dont need low to mid torque on the race track.. well much.. most of its top end. why do you think dragsters run open headers?

He isn't a dragster though lol just a measly lil 1.5L...i reckon it'd lose time on the quarter mile even if it did gain upper end power it's gonna bog down getting off the line.

This thread wins.

Time for me to have a presence on AL I think... Got a fresh name change too.

I'll be running my car how it sits when I go on the 13th... Really could loose *poo* loads of weight with removing the UltraRacing bars, spare, sub etc but I really CBF'd hahaha

I'm hoping to crack the 15s too James :p
