Hi All,
Wondering if anyone can shed light regarding the fuel pump harness as im installing a relay to hardwire the fuel pump from the battery.
4 pin relay
- Pin 30 direct to battery with an inline fuse
- Pin 85 ground for the relay to the chassis
- Pin 86 12V signal from ECU side (is this the red blue wire?)
- Pin 87 12V signal from fuel pump side
There are wires from the fuel pump housing:
- Red/white - fuel gauge power?
- Black/silver - fuel gauge ground?
- Red/blue - fuel pump 12v power signal?
- Black/blue - Fuel pump ground?
Did some testing with the multi meter with ignition on to identify which cable is the 12V signal, from my readings its the Red/Blue wire. The red/white pin also had power but only half the voltage which makes me believe its for the fuel gauge? Can anyone confirm what each wire is for exactly? The Haynes manual says Black/Blue wire is power to the fuel pump housing but i get no voltage readings from it, so i thought this was actually the ground for the fuel pump since its a thicker cable.
When i connect everything up as per the above, the relay clicks but the fuel pump does not operate, unless i reconnect the Black/Blue cable which i originally thought could be directly grounded to the chasis from the fuel pump side
