FTO rear control arm bushes?

Hey guys, I got fto lower control arms to do the rear sway bar setup. But they need new bushes, neither me nor my parts supplier can find a listing for fto rear lca bushes. They look identical to the eye to those of mirage/lancer lcas and the bushes in those. Can anyone confirm this? Or does anyone know where I could source poly urethane bushes to suit the fto lcas?

Many thanks for any help guys!

Why do they need changing?
Those are spherical joints and shouldn't be replaced for bushes.

I do believe they are the same as the Lancer but can't confirm

Replacing because they seem rather worn and look perished. And because I'm doing all my other lca bushes and it seems pointless not to do these while I'm at it? (Also I'm freaking sick of hearing squeeks and groans! )

This isn't a pic of mine but they're the same,

They look to me to be bushes on each end? I thought spherical joints were like ball joints?

Again thanks tor any help!

Unless they are worn I wouldn't bother replacing them.

They have a rubber dust boot, if that is ok and there is no play, then leave them as is.

The reason I say this is if you get aftermarket polyurethane bushes, these are simply nowhere near as good as they will always have flex unlike the spherical joints.

Yes a balljoint is a spherical bearing, and those LCAs have the same type of thing.

As do a couple of those dogbone control arms in the rear which also should not be replaced with polyurethane bushes.

They squeek and groan? I assumed the solution for this would be replacing them? What would be a better option as they do need replacing.

Are you sure those are what are making noise?
It could be the other rubber bushes.

I don't know what is done as far as replacements are concerned, in the sense that Mitsubishi may have designed it such that the arms are replaced as a whole unit when the joints wear out or whether they can be pressed out and new ones pressed in.

Do you have a press?
Do you have your stock control arms?
I'd say experiment with them and see if you can remove the joints from them (if they are good) and press them into the swaybar LCAs

The best bet is to measure the diameter for the bushes you need, then do a search online for something that matches. Be careful to get the exact size, given it’s pressed in, even 0.5mm matters.

I ended up with Superpro bushes for a Lancer (SPF1573K). One side was spot on, but the other was smaller. Ended machining a sleeve to make up for the difference. Your mileage may vary so best to measure what you have.
