First post! 4G15 CE Lancer turbo - best way to go about it.

Ok guys, first post on here. I have in my possession a '02 CE GLi coupe, 1.5 5 speed. A very tidy car inside and out, owned by my aunty since new and she has since upgraded. After keeping the car in good nick over the years for her she just gave the thing to me. Plan was to clean it up and sell it, but I love a project (or three, I also have an LX Torana mid build and various other small projects on the go).

A few years back I did a 4EFTE and manual swap into a Toyota Paseo including doing all piping, wiring, front mount, battery relocation etc. so definitely not my first turbo conversion. Also an auto elec by trade. However my plan for this one is to just boost the 4G15, aftermarket ECU and just drive it and if it pops, it pops.

Anyone who has done it before I'd like to hear any tips you would like to share. Don't wanna hear "dont waste your money on a 4G15" because this isn't a serious project just a little side one. I have a boily, mechanics and other trades to help with it so cost isn't much of an issue. Although plan is to keep it relatively cheap (hence boosting the stock motor).

Never owned one of these so no idea what's available for them and what's not.
Is there any exhaust manifolds and dump pipes off the shelf for 4G15's or is it all gonna be custom? What larger injectors will directly replace the standard ones? Any tip on aftermarket ECU's (used a microtech LT-8 on the Paseo, was thinking something similar for this as well) also what choice of turbo is ideal? Better head bolts or going to studs a good idea?

Love to hear any advice (or any contacts for parts if you are in Sydney)
Cheers.

First step should be to swap out the g15 for a g93 or 94. There is hardly any off the shelf parts around for the 1.5 plus you get a better engine as a base. The swap is very easy and the engines can be found for next to nothing.

Go to google, type in "4g15 turbo site:auslancer.com"

Go through those results. Not even bullshitting.

You'll wanna to @Hens for parts and maybe advice if you're lucky

Haven't looked much into the 15 but looks like there are manifolds available off the shelf.

4g15 runs a MAP sensor, so its somewhat straightforward to change to an aftermarket 1 or 2BAR sensor, use the aftermarket ecu to control the fuel and ignition, and Bob's your uncle. Change injectors, so then just the manifold will be your biggest issue.

mcm’s 2sexy build (search youtube) was a turboed 4g15 iirc, and it seemed pretty straight forward

can you flash the ecu?

can you flash the ecu?

The older gen (CC) was cracked or at least reflashed and used by the USA, but I don't think there were many people using them. SAFC or some other cheap crappy piggyback would do the job
