Drivers Side Relays (CE Lancer/Mirage)

Hey guys,

So I’ve done a bit of searching yet haven’t found any definitive answers.

From left to right, what are the plugs and corresponding relays in this pic?

Not sure on the exact location, but one is foglights, and one is for power windows.

Furthermore, does anyone know what the part number / code for the relays are?

EDIT: a few searches online result in this. Turns out headlights, horn, power windows, radiator fan, fog lights and tail lights all use the same relay. Part number is REL-016

Oh and also (sorry for the multiple messages in a row, I keep having things pop up in my head).

If I upgrade all my lights to LED, they’ll draw marginally less current (up to 50%+), would it be a good idea to then replace the corresponding fuses for said circuit to one rated for less?

ie, if I’m using a 15A fuse for halogens, should I swap to a 5A or 10A (depending upon expected current draw based upon calculations), so that the circuit protection still operates as intended?

The only relay you use is the middle one for power windows.
The rest stay blank.

Does that relay sit in one of the top 3 smaller slots, or beside the blue one?

EDIT: I’ve just found one of your posts in another thread, showing where the relay goes. As for when you installed your fog lights, did you not install a relay to control them? Or are they wired through a secondary relay paired with the parkers as such?

I had MR interior and front(headlights) looms as I wanting to work like factory.
OEM fog light wiring comes out next to the parkers, so it runs off the headlight system. No extra relays required.

Have just got under my dash, and found that I have 4 wires missing from the body loom under the dash (for the fog lights). Upon reading the diagram, and looking under the hood, these are my findings;

Fuse 3 has 14V when engine is running.
The Parker light bypass wires and fog light control wires are missing under the dash.

From what I can gather, all I need is to run a +ve from the fuse, into the plug under the dash, and from the other side of the switch into the +ve for fog lights. After that they should work.

To my surprise, on the diagram there’s no relay for the fog lamps, they run directly from the battery.. given that they’re 50W fog lamps running on a 12V system, that’s 8.33A running directly through the switch, which would explain why I’ve read about the switches burning out easily.

Would it be a good idea to install a relay for the fog lights?

EDIT: I’ve just tested polarity between Fuse #3 and Battery -ve, I conducted the tests with accessories on, engine on, engine off and Parker’s on. I’ve discovered that the fuse has zero volts unless the parkers are turned on, which means it does run off that relay.

Digging up an old one here

I have an 03 Mirage with the light plugs behind the bar/switch plug in the dash, but some missing wires, like you noted.

Did you manage to get it all working? I’m keen to use the OE wiring if I can, and it seems there’s only 1/2 wires missing from the system.
