Drivers side engine mount

Hi. I own a 07/08 lancer that has started to make a groan noise in the front when cold and worse in reverse. Its had shocks replaced, brakes checked etc. Still has noise. Took it to several mechanics who could only put it down to the top right rubber in the engine mount deteriorating. Which makes the groan noise. Once hot it goes away.
Has anyone else experienced this.

Im not sure how it would cause it ti make a groan noise. It certainly wont make the same kind of power/torque cause its flapping around and if by groan you mean the engine working harder than it usually would then it may be the case

Its really weird. I originally thought it was worn brake pads. They were due so i replaced them. Still has noise. All the mechanics could put it down to after keeping it overnight is the rubber in the mount deteriorating and when cold especially in reverse when the engine torgues a certain way makes the noise. Then when wams up the rubber becomes softer and sound goes. Will know for sure in the morning. Fitted a new mount.
Will post results.

Well i can confirm it was the rubber in the mount. After i fitted the new one yesterday. No noise this morning.
