Crank Angle Sensor

Hey guys
Just got a Quick question about the crank angle sensor on a CE lancer 1.5ltr.

Is the CAS under the timing belt cover?
And is there a "how to" on here to replace one on my model?

Thanks again josh

Why would you think it needed replacing. If it broke your car would either misfire really bad all the time or not start at all

I work for a car dealership as a detailer and I had one of the mechanics over last night to have a look at it and he diagnosed it to be the CAS checked everything an fuel, power, spark and there's no injector pulse (I think he said) so that's how he came to that.

believe me u dont wanna be trying to replace ur CAS
been there done that

i needed this

i know the feeling citta, those crank bolts are a beech

How could I check it mate?
That's next on the list of things to change to get it going again.

Thanks heaps Aswel appreciate it.

there is a way to rig up a test light on the plug that goes into the coil pack then try starting it and the light should pulse.

Gah!
Stupid car!

Replaced ecu and crank angle sensor and still no injector pulse!

Going to tow it to Mitsubishi down the road and get a diagnose I think.

sorry to hear that..

maybe a good lesson here for some.... Get a professional to look at stuff, with the right equipment, at the right location.

Not every diagnosis, by a mechanic is correct. Least if they do it at their place of business..you might not have to pay for their farkups!

You really didnt need that heavy duty rattle gun to get the underdrive pully off..
Just needs the right size socket, a bar over the end going to the ground, turn your key. and bam it will come right off. was Scary but true

Yeah... but that is daft... there are lots of videos on YouTube, showing people doing that and coming a cropper...

Best we not promote 'stupidity' on this forum. One way, the right way...

Here endeth the lesson.

YES! completely right, i wouldnt suggest trying it, my car jumpped off its stands and luckly landed back onto them.... dont attempt it! haha

just read this sounds like I might have the same problem as you nothing triggering the injectors.
