Hey guys,

As the title suggests, I am "evolving" my CE into a track car. This forum has many extremely useful threads for upgrading various components to improve performance so a mad thanks to anyone posting quality info. The plan is to start with a motorkhana event to learn some good driving skills. Next will be wheels and suspension before taking the car to the track and seeing where I want to head from there to improve performance. Defs want to throw in a turbo and intercooler setup at some stage. If anyone has any mint sites for purchasing suspension kits from please share as well as any tutorials or other useful info if you have built a track Lancer before.

Thanks in advance,
Ben

Hey Ben, Welcome to the forums!

Advice for parts. Trawl the Facebook groups, gumtree & eBay.
Feel free to put a call out if you’re looking for something particular, perhaps one of us has a lead on something.

Links to some groups I follow.
I can throw a few more at you if you want.

We have section of DIY’s on here:http://www.auslancer.com/index.php?forums/diys.41/
Have a look through and see if anything grabs you.

Im in the process of building up my white mirage for dedicated track duties to replace my blue one and making painfully slow process as I get time.
I’ve done a ton of skid pan motorkhana at Eastern Creek with my blue car, which has been fun for quite a few years!

Start a ride thread to a keep us updated on your progress and take a breeze through ours for some ideas and motivation

Thanks heaps ARC!! I'll slowly but surely make my way through what's in these links. There is a motorkhana in May that I'm gonna have a crack at.
I also purchased a big block 4G64 motor that's in my shed ready to be taken out of the thrashed CH shell that houses it. Some of the parts on the shell tho are still decent and I would like a few opinions on what is going to be best for my pocket. Should I a) remove the decent parts such as doors and boot lid on my own and sell them privately online or b) just pull the engine out and sell whats left to the wreckers. I feel a) will put more in my pocket and should cover the $400 cost for the motor.
Thanks for all of the tips and advice and the patience to read through this essay of a post.
Happy modding!! :)

Turn's out old mate jipped me and sold me a 4g94. He must've read it upside down. Anyway, with some tinkering I can pull a few hunjy back with a suspected profit. Found $75 worth of Bob Jane coupons which is a win. Only gotta make $325 more to break even. Lessons have been learnt.
