CE reflector housing

Hi guys , i purchased some led lights for my ce 2000 coupe and I'm not seeing the real benefit, is this because of the reflector housing and can i take it out??

LED bulbs?

We see this time and time again, people spending hundreds of bulbs or light housings and its worse than stock.
LED light is different to the stock halogen lights - halogen needs the reflector to bounce the light back out. The distance between the filament of the bulb and the first reflector and the headlight reflector are all engineered to allow for the max amount of light possible. Changing to LED bulbs moves that filament measurement point and throws out the rest of the measurements.

LED bulbs and HIDs work 1000x better with/in a projector housing.

Thanks mate, would they work better if I didn't screw them in as much that way they may sit back further instead of being so close ??

It might work slightly better, it'll take trial and error to see what is best.

Keep in mind that a halogen filament is a 0.5mm wire of a certain length in a certain xzy position in the headlight making 360 degree light, whereas an LED bulb is (from my experiences) a twin sided LED chip, of 5mm x 5mm, making light in two 179 degree arcs (or less) direction, so it might not be as good as even a crap halogen bulb

Well that's a bummer, oh well trial and error I spose..lol. I've purchased a used MR body kit and new mags for the ce 2000 coupe. Performance wise I have a sports exhaust (on it when i got it) and K and N pod filter. I cut the center out of the old air filter and used some new pipe to connect it together. Then closed the box back up and it looks like nothing has been done and still has the old air filter... I was pretty impressed with myself as this is my 1st project....

Just a thought... as the LEDS are 179' I wonder what would happen if I took 179' off the reflector??
