So because one side of my HID lights conked out(not sure if its the ballast or bulb), i decided to try on a pair of these rather modern LED lightbulbs... with a little fan behind no less.
I could barely get them to fit as i had to squeeze the locking pin or whatever you call that past what i assume to be the fat motor housing... and when i finally did they r abit shaky. Then I find out the OE rubber boots don't fit @ all. Again, because of the fat motor housing and also there is a cut out behind for the fans to draw air in to cool the LED circuitry or something like that.
They are really bright but seems like there's no way to adjust the light throw.. its as if they are on high beam all the time lol.
Sorry for the deviate. Now, has anyone encountered something similar? Can i get away with not putting on the boots, or are they really important? i'll have to cut them up abit to make them fit over the bulbs if they are but i rather not.. plain laziness talking lol
