CE lancer rear sway bar

Hey all

Trying to find a rear sway bar for a Ce lancer
My research says that whiteline no longer makes the bar p/n bmz something something

Does another company sell the bars and the required bracket to bolt it up?

I know this has probably been bought up 1000 times but couldn't find any recent Info on the topic

Cheers

LCA's and brackets and fto sway bar will fit. May not clear your exhaust.

as rigby says, find a wrecked FTO, it has a swaybar that bolts up which is great on a budget, keep in mind you need the chassis mounts and lower control arms off the FTO along with the swaybar

proton satrias and wiras and personas also have the same swaybar as fto and fit the same way

if you want stiffer, whiteline and Ultra Racing offer large FTO swaybars which can bolt in once you have all the OEM fto/proton swaybar setup there

Pretty much all of the above, just keep in mind Wira Swaybar is way skinnier, i wouldn't even bother. Also if you go with the thicker FTO aftermarket rear sway bar its probably a good idea to upgrade the front to the EVO4 Front sway bar to keep the car balanced.

What's the standard thickness of the FTO swaybar? Curious cause the ones, I have is 18mm.

This is all off the top of my head
FTO OEM is 18mm
FTO Aftermarket is 23mm maybe adjustable?
Lancer Aftermarket is 18mm but adjustable
Wira is heaps thinner than the others

Awesome

Pick and Payless has a couple wira's in stock so I can go take the rear control arms off that and get either a fto bar or a aftermarket one

Actually doing this for a mate to make it handle a bit like my suby :p

So far it seems like the plan is
Coilovers
Rear sway bar
Anti lift kit
And maybe some wider wheels on some sticky tyres

Any other cost effective things I could do?

Cheers

Everything you've just listed is an awesome start, only thing i'd add is twin pot FTO brakes, should be a go kart after all that

Good idea

Brake upgrade would have to come after the wheels, his current wheels have sfa room
In them atm.

Cheers

Hey guys, digging up an old thread here but wanted to share some information and maybe get some confirmation.

Picked up an FTO rear sway bar with lca and mounts for my CE sedan.
The one I picked up is actually 17mm and from what I can gather is from a pre-facelift FTO. Facelift rear was 18mm with other differences in the mounting point on the LCA and different type of drop links (see below the pre-facelift drop links in the top left).
Now the pre-facelift (17mm) which I have does seem like it will fit my car but won't clear the lower muffler mount, which is unfortunate but I'm guessing could be easily worked around by getting a new muffler (along with prob a whole cat back system) installed.

It seems that some improvements were made to the design on the 18mm, I'm no engineer but I can see how the different drop links might transfer the stress more efficiently, however marginal, it might still be worth my while to try and find an 18mm set up if it will clear. More or less just so I can I install it myself which is what I like to do but also to save having to get a new exhaust at the same time.

So my question for the brains trust is this:
For those of you that have fitted a facelift (18mm) sway bar did it clear your std exhaust?

Hey fifthelement - no - I also have the 18mm bar and attempted to fit it but it wont clear the standard exhaust. I had to settle for using the 13mm GTi bar until I finally managed to get my hands on a whiteline one.

Also - may I ask, what site do you find those parts diagrams?

just adding some info on to this quickly,
im running fto LCA paired with ultraracing sway, off the top of my head its 23mm or 26mm. does/will foul on exhaust and has broken a set of sway bar mounts. since i have upgraded the sway bar mounting plates with whiteline ones off the top of my head.
