CE lancer Power Windows and Mirrors

I picked up another CE today which has power windows and mirrors which mine doesn't, has anyone removed and installed both on a non powered CE before?

If so, was it a difficult job and what needed to be done?

I have and did, was easy. Did it in a day without any prior experience.

Assuming that you have the wiring for the power windows in your non power window car it is easy.
Look under your dash on your drivers side and you will see 2 white and 1 blue plug on the car you bought. It should have a black relay there. This is the power
window relay.
If your car has these same white/blue plugs then you have the power window harness in your car.

Easiest way is to change over the door harnesses in the doors. Disconnect from plug between door and car. Fiddly but not that hard.
Change over the door harnesses.
Install the power window motors and electric windows. All plug and play.
Change over door trims.
Connect door switches.
Connect the power window relay.

Take off instrument cluster surround (2 screws) and connect mirror switch to plug in the dash.

Only problem i ran into was that i had aftermarket speakers in the front door and i had to solder different pins to the door loom. Not a big problem.

Anyway there is alot of info on how to do this conversion on this forum. Use the search box

Cheers

the relay goes into one of those plugs you have shown
the plug they are talking about you will need to check further to the right that goes into the drivers door.

The door loom plug will either be 2 wire or 6 wire. If it's 2 wire then you need to run a new dash loom from a power window model, if its 6 wire you don't.

Probably best to bring some context into the situation.

So in addition to what was asked in chat.

The door loom plugs run out of the door in to the cavity behind the kick panels each side.
It's a large white rectangular plug. I found it easier to push it out of the cavity between the body and the door.
On the passenger side it's easier to unbolt the ECU for a little less obstruction.

When I did my mirage back in the day....

My door loom only had a couple of wires for the speaker and central locking, but the original mirage interior loom had all the wires.
All I did was install and plug in the MR door loom and put in the relay and it all worked.
Power windows and mirrors and cruising... I was pretty chuffed :)

Yeah I was unlucky as I needed to run the full dash loom as I only had 2 plugs either side. Fortunately I discovered this while the dash was out and I had a parts car handy..

I picked up some switches, regs and cards this week, however the looms i got are pretty much only good for the plugs.
It brings me to ask, can anyone tell me which wires are what into the drivers door plug ? my guess is the passenger door borrows its power source from the drivers side.
Ive been scouring the forums looking for a manual wire up and pinning it with a test meter all day and just been getting more and more confused with it.
Or if someone wouldn't mind hitting up their plug with a test light for me ?

There'll be a wiring diagram in the Gregory's manual.
Get to a Supercheap store and buy one, it'll money well spent even after this.

Mine where plug and play with door looms? Only thing missing was relay which i also took from donor car and plugged in and viola!

Nvm re read and I assume the loom was mangled?

Well I picked me up a Bible, have wired them in manually, mine didn't have the plugs for em anyways.
I'm happy to share diagrams etc if anyone needs it.

just want to add that the relay is a standard 2 pin east west and 2 pin north south and can be purchased from autobahn for like $15ish

Secondly, power window relay goes into the middle slot.

Where is that located? I have the new doors. There is a fuse box in the engine bay for power windows and the fuse is fine.the only place I haven't looked is under the dash and I have a aftermarket cruise control module in about that area that you have in the picture in if that the area in thinking

Yeah under the dash, to the right of the steering column.
Take the bottom cover off and it’s right there as pictured.
But you won’t have the black relay is in the picture.
