CE Lancer Possible Engine Conversions

It will bolt into a satria, m21, cc coupe, cc sedan, persona, jumbuck and wira. Better picks are cc coupes, sedans and satrias. Especially a Satria GTi as previously mentioned. They came with a lot of extra standard equipment and were made until 2003. There are 2 types of models, one uses a mitsu ecu and the other a Siemens ecu. Do. Not. Buy. The. Seimens. Model.

I suggest getting a Satria GTi as a base. They're really overlooked cars for some reason

Proably because they it's hard to find one thats resonably priced not thrashed and beat to hell.

+2 for learning by doing

As Chowetime said in a her comment is that when we did my conversion
It was easier having the whole wreck as you need to swap most things over eg 1.5 to 1.8
With the key,key barrel and immoboliser you will need them but make sure you have the same
Ecu as well as the car won't start.
If I can help with any info on this conversion feel free to give me a pm
Happy to help.
Kraig.

Did you change the immobilizer unit ?

Didnt know it had one

Sure does.
You need the ECU, Immobilizer and key all matching.
If you dont have a matching key you could always program in another using the guide in the DIY section.

Hi All,

Has anyone ever put a diesel into a coupe like a 4D65 1.8Litre

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Sirius_engine#4d63

or a 4D68 2Litre

I have a 1999 CE Lancer Coupe 1.5 Auto Hulk as the engine has died. I bought another 4D15 a guy took out of a Mirage for $50 but I don't know if it's worth swapping unless I can do it myself. The guy I bought the engine from said he was going to put a v6 in the Mirage.

Regards

John

I'm not sure what fuel system differences are needed? Don't diesels need to be pressured or vacuum to work?

Diesels are generally very high pressure, instead of our 40-60psi fuel rail, diesels is like 1000+

Soz for the bump/noob question
But I have a 03 mirage wanting to g93 swap it from a g15
Would g93 from a Ce lancer SEDAN work?
Or does it have to be a coupe?

Cheers

First post here, although I have done a fair bit of lurking and reading. I have read right through this thread a couple of times and got some great ideas.

I have though I think come up with a swap no one else has done, at least not that they have shared on the interwebs. I have pulled the tiny 1.5 out of my spare parts mirage and I'm dropping in a 2.6 astron II (4g54) out of a ts magna.
This is by no means a simple swap, I've had to do quite a bit of "massaging" to the car to fit the k frame from the magna into the mirage and I've still got a long, long way to go before it'll start or run, but I was so stoked today to finally slot the donk into place ( admittedly only the most basic mock up at this point) that I thought I'd post a couple of pics.IMG_20180401_160659-1024x576.jpg IMG_20180401_160259-576x1024.jpg this has been and will continue to be a learning experience for me, I'm no mechanic, I've never done anything like this before, not that I'm a complete noob, I've been tinkering with bits n pieces most of my 41 years. I'm also using this project to teach myself to weld, all of this is made harder by the fact I don't even have a garage yet and I'm working in the dirt beside the house.
Anyway sorry for the novel of a first post but I had to share my progress with someone as the wife and daughter just think I'm stupid coz I have plenty of cars the already work.

Cheers
Bentaz.

Interesting swap.
I am not too familiar with those 2.6 engines but I know the newer Magna came in a 2.4L which would be a much simpler swap and I would expect the engine to make more power.
Also some DOHC heads from Kias etc fit too
