Anyone reused their hydraulic tensioner?

Hi, if I had a loose cam-belt (presumably because the tensioner had fully extended), could I remove it and reset it?

Or, if going in, should I not be a tightarse and just buy a kit with it included? This seems cheap, given it includes a new tensioner; any experiences with this brand?

Hey mate, from personal experience, change the goddamn tensioner. The looseness is most likely due to the tensioner being buggered. Change both belts, use the right tool for setting the tensioner correctly, and get a quality 14mm socket and spanner.

I had trouble with the new tensioner in my gates kit, as well as two of the bearings. I’ve done many g69 timing belts and this was a one off bad kit for some reason. For that reason alone I’d be buying from a local supplier that you can take parts back to, rather than online.

No brand experience personally with the kit you linked, I’m sure itd be fine
