4g93 swap questions

Fast or slow release is dangerous to exposed and covered skin because the chemical is endothermic to get to room temp, so it will boil and suck the heat out of everything to do so. Cover your skin
the guy that was selling me the motor told me you can just unbolt the compressor from the motor and leave it dangling in the engine bay and the whole system will still be sealed, then chuck it back on the 1.8 when im done, is this true? im fairly confident on the first part but not sure if a 1.5 compressor will fit a 1.8. would be grouse if i didnt have to degas at all
 
The mounting point on the engine is different between the two. If you're lucky you can match the 1.8 actually bracket to the 1.5 compressor, but it's a mix n match luckiness
 
Then I must have won the lottery because my compressor went straight from my 1.5 to the 1.8 all that was required was for my to bend ever so slightly 1 of the hard pipes and by bend I mean kink!

When we did my 93 swap, we left the ac & ps connected. We didn’t vent the gas, wait around for it to clear or use the machine to extract it. Pretty sure we just unbolted it from the g15 before removal and bolted it up to the 93.

That is Exactly what we did with mine too!

You definitely should not crack the fitting on the TX valve, which is on the firewall, just below the charcoal canister. It uses an Allan key screw to clamp down the fittings. You need to remove this when doing a heater core, but doing so will cause all refrigerant to escape once you loosen the fitting enough.

If you were to crack the bolt loose enough to allow refrigerant to escape, you should drop your tool and evacuate the area for 5 minutes. By this point all pressure in the lines would have escaped.

But you should definitely not do it, this information is just to make you aware of places you should *never* fiddle with unless consulting with a professional first. Captain Planet will thank you.
