4G69 into a CE Lancer

Hello. Its been very helpfull reading some of the information on this forum so thanks to the people who run it and those who take the time to share their knowledge.
I have been searching for as much info as i can on performing an engine swap. I have a 4G69 motor & transmission, complete wiring harness, fuse panels, ecu and bcm from an 06 lancer and a complete 2002 CE, the lucky recipient.
I have pin-out diagrams for both vehicles and a fair amount of mechanical experience.
Im wondering if i can use the 4G69 Factory ECU in the CE Lancer.
The CE has no airbags or ABS whereas the 06 does but would this lack of function matter? Ive worked on plenty of cars with flashing ABS and Airbag lights but the car still drives perfectly. Could i just remove all the ABS and Airbag wires from the loom completely and proceed? The ECU may register a fault but there would be no dash light to display it on.
Is the immobiliser going to jerk me around or is it part of the body control in the other vehicle?
Any links to some good info or first hand knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I think @frosty7 used a lot of the CH gear, abs and all.

And @hornunga used a patch loom and an aftermarket ecu.

They better explain than I could.

It is entirely possible to run the engine loom for the g69 in the CE body. FB bloke by the name of Billy Chen has done it. If you have questions, he will answer, but don’t expect a step by step.

I also planned on doing this and sold my plans(complete wiring diagrams) with the motor package when I decided cash was better than a fun car.

Remove all CE engine wiring. Leave ce body control functions. Remove ABS and SRS wiring from CH engine loom. Bring CH dash cluster. Bring CH throttle pedal. (Just drill holes into the floor for it. Bring CH dash wiring from ecu to cluster incl throttle pedal & imob loom and imob. You’ll need the key barrel anyway for starting from the CH so the imob/loom is no big deal.

Be very careful not to break the ign switch and key reader from the CH. common issue if rough hands are used.

Need to join the CE a/c button into the CH ecu. May also need to patch the wiper harness. Iirc it is a seperate mini loom on the CH. Use the CE AND CH fuse boxes for simplicity. That way you retain oem spots for all fuses ect. Remove srs and abs globes from CH dash.

Let me know if I can help more.

Thanks, I will try frosty

sweet, thanks for the info. seems all i need is the ign switch, key and immo. the wreck i got the loom from has them. i shouda grabbed them when i was there

Just be sure to match key imob and ecu from the same car. If one is different. No go.

Got the 1.5L out today. The 2.4L is sitting in there. The extra weight made the front end sit down a bit lower, I dont think the factory struts are up to the job.

Just need to open the throttle more to keep the front end off the ground, add some wheelie bars to the rear and a parachute.
Lol
You got this

So you haven’t done any supporting mods like brakes or suspension for the engine upgrade?
