Hello all.

Haven't been on here for... a while. Good to see an old forum still alive!

Before I ask... yes: I have searched. A lot. Ive gone through a phone battery doing so lol. Cant find a clear answer.

Will an evo 4g63t bolt up to the standard fwd gearbox as found in a ce / ch?
If so which models?

I believe a 69 box will bolt up but the starter for the 69 bolts on where the turbo sits. Others here will know more.
 
You will have a dilemma. Evo456 clutch is pull type. Evo789 is the same but larger has diameter clutch disc and more pressure plate clamp from factory.
Also problem with high mount starter will mean the nice factory evo turbo manifold will cause the turbo to be in the way of the starter motor. Requires custom turbo manifold.
And most likely a custom clutch setup with smaller 4g69 sized disc.
All peformance clutches for 4g63 and thr ones that convert to push type are exxy and are for higher powered builds. Also they most will have over 1tonne clamp and this will be an issue with a factory f5m42 box.
A balance of clamp and disc friction material must be chosen.

Surprisingly not: All I'm really interested in is a 4g63t block bolting up to a standard ce/ch fwd gearbox.

Going by what you have said Hens, Evo 4 and up is what I'll be looking for?
