2005 Ch Lancer key programming error

Hi everyone,

I can successfully get my car into programming mode (by jumping pins 1 and 4 of the obd port and doing the hazard button procedure). Then I press lock 3 times on my remote, and the car unlocks/locks to confirm it has learned.

But! I unjump the pins and the remote no longer works - like it just forgot what it learned! :fearscream:

It's not a remote error as I can even get it to respond to multiple remotes in learning mode.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what it is? The car is new to me. Any suggestions much appreciated!

Found the problem, broken switch on the rear/wagon door made the car think the door was always open - disabling the remote. Fixing/disabling the switch today
 
Good info to know, glad you’ve come back to the forums and let us know about these things - not too many CH’s around on here
