Heya, I know there's a few exhaust threads.. but I own a 2.4L 2006 lancer and I went to the exhaust shop today with my idea of a 2.5inch pipe from the catback with a decent high flow muffler and a nice tip.. Instantly the guy shook his head and said nope what I need is a 2.25 inch as well as a resonator and THEN a muffler.. as he thinks it will sound raspy and tinny
Does anyone have a 2.5in to decent muffler set up and can give me some feedback? Cheers!

What I currently have is a basic 2 inch catback (I asked for a 2.25 inch but they were very dodgy and lied to me) with a straight through muffler..
the shop I went to yesterday also suggested keeping the 2 inch :/ and just changing the muffler

I have a 2.5" on a 1.8, I have a resonator and a muffler and it is slightly raspy and tinny even still. I'd go so far as to get a mid muffler next time, as long as it's not a restrictive one. They sound amazing with both!

I have a 21/2" on mine with a set of RPW extractors 44mm I have anice Lukey oval muufler on mine pretty much a straight through I did put a hotdog midway at the rear to keep the noise down - the car sounds really thick and meaty definately no wet fart in a tine shed sound

I've just put a set of the 44mm rpw extractors on my ch with the high flow cat too from them which turns out to be hurricane. I'm planning on 2.5 inch as well and wondering what it would sound like once i get the system finished off. What muffler should i go for. Quite a few brands out there and seen you had lukey. Do you know exactly which lukey as there's a few on their site. I also will be putting a res/hotdog in the middle. Want that meaty sound you have lol.
