Hello to the people of this new and wonderful world!

My name is Amber, I’m female and apparently I like cars. I have always been interested in cars and how they work but unfortunately never had someone to teach me the basic, and not so basic knowledge until now. Nothing like car oil and grease to get the juices flowing.

Discovering how a car works and modifying it is truly amazing! Nothing brings me greater joy then pulling apart my car, making it look nice and putting it all back together again.

I have recently come to own a pretty damn fine looking Ch Lancer. Exterior is pretty nice, still working on a few scratches and paint damage.

The interior was mostly nice, with the back door panels having some nasty deep scratches. Dont worry, with my trusty tool kit and $2 in hand I went on an adventure too “U-pull-it”. Ripped off some door panels and re-installed them into my car. My centre console had seen some rough days also, but don’t worry nothing some sanding, primer and paint can’t solve!

So, I guess this is a hello and I look forward too discovering more and learning more. (Be kind I’m learning)

- Amber

Hello and Welcome! Looks like you’re off to a good start - nothing better to be doing during a lockdown.

If you don’t mind, can I ask which paint colour you used? Seems to match the original well.

Heya! Thank you, Glad to be here! Being able to spend time on my car has been amazing!

Yeah no problem. I used the dupli-colour touch up paint, colour graphite mica, paint code (DSMZ213) The original colour was lighter and didn’t have as many metallic flecks through it.

I wanted something darker with a little more flecks through it. Very happy with the way it turned out. I used a plastic and fibreglass primer as well too help get the paint to stick, too finish I used a clear top coat too get that smooth finish.

UPDATE.

My partner bought a matching VRX and of course he had too buy it in yellow (that’s the colour I wanted)... Partner got me to paint his console and centre piece the same colour as mine. “You’re more patient than me”. His words
