Hi All,

Anybody have any idea where to get a decent priced cold air filter made up and a tune done to a 2015 CJ es sport lancer in QLD, The place that did my exhaust offered to do it but they screwed up my exhaust system so wasn't game enough to trust them.

Thanks,

Do it and the one thing you will screw up is your warranty.

Some people care not for their warranty. But also I wonder how clever they are and if you can flash it back to stock if need be.

There are some off the shelf cold air intake kits out there, or you should be able to fit the larger intake ducting from the Ralliart along with a high flow panel filter. Personally I would opt for the Ralliart ducting as it's cheap and looks OEM. If you want a full on CAI then the Injen CAI was the cream of the crop back when I had my CJ. Just don't go for a Short Ram Intake, you will just be sucking in hot air and whilst it sounds great, you will lose performance.

As for tuning, not many people out there tune the NA 4B11/12 motors, main tuner I knew of back in the day was Merlin on the Central Coast NSW. Don't know if he still tunes or how to get hold of him these days. Before going with a tuner make sure they give you references for other NA 4B11/12 motors that they have tuned unless you want to risk being their guinea pig.

You could reflash it back, but supposedly there was a counter within the ECU that a Mitsubishi dealer would be able to check if they did a thorough job with their scanning tool. It was something that was speculated about but not really confirmed when I had a CJ and went down the flash tune path. It's been quite a few years now since then, so it's quite likely Mitsubishi have better tools to detect ECUs that have been previously flashed.

Overcome re tuned ECU being detected !!?? Buy a second ECU, new or used in good working condition.
Replace original with new purchase and have that one tuned. If situation arises where Mitsubishi
might endevour to use the re tune as an unfair ploy to avoid warranty, reinstall original before submitting
the car. Not cheap, but could work.
