My AC Compressor has had it, and I wanna remove it, whats involved and where do I find a shorter belt once its removed I never use the AC anyways, car is a 2000 VRX Lancer Sedan 4G93 1.8L, I mainly just need a diagram of the drivebelt and some extra help with the process of elimating the AC compressor, and what else i can remove after doing this.

This is the 4g69, but same rules apply for the belt.

Page 6/7 shows you the adjustment of the belts.

Male sure you have someone degass your system before you start.
And you should be free to remove anything connected to the compressor. There will be a wiring loom that sits up on the wheel arch that can be disconnected at a plug somewhere along the back firewall and removed. And you will be free to remove the ac hardlines right back to the firewall, but make sure you blank off the wall if you wish to reuse your aircon somewhere down the track.

So going by the picture in the manual, the air con tensioner pulley has to go aswell, and the power steering pump has a tenstion adjuster on it, the new belt just goes from crank pulley to power steering and thats it, so to get the belt on there just loosen the power steering pump correct, and how can i degass the ac unit myself. Trying to save a couple of bucks as well as clean up engine bay, next question is what adapters and stuff are needed to do a pod filter/cold air intake. My 4G93 has 335,000Kms on it still going strong whats the average lifespan of these motors before they give you problems?
