4g15 engine improvement?

Love to do engine but over it haha
Wandering any engine mods from 4g93 can improve anything like throttle body, manifold, best spark plugs not stock anything would be useful. Cars been worked on with dodgy electrics but while I'm under the hood would rather get best advice from u guys. Can't afford an evo or another engine swap ATM.

From what iv read there isnt much to be done for the 4g15 that are worth the effort or cost. I seen a 1.8l lancer that had rear end damage going for $230 the other day on auctions with 1 minute left, sadly i was too poor at the time but those stories of getting a cheap 1.8 are doable. Again going off what iv read here i believe you would be better off spending money on other upgrades for handling and such or simply saving the cash for more effective mods/swaps.

A cheap DIY might be cleaning the hell out of your engine bay while your working on it kinda like a support mod for future mods

Your best bet is a 1.8 swap which will replace the engine loom (eliminate those electrical issues you're having) and will net you stock, reliable power for the cost of a decent 1.5L mod that would get you less power than a 1.8 swap. You can get a donor car for under $500, then all you need is time, elbow grease and replace filters/fluids. If you happen to get a donor car (which you should as there's many things needed to replace during the engine swap) then you will also have spare parts and a shell to scrap to recoup some of the costs of the swap.

If you don't want an engine swap, you can do an exhaust, cam regrind, cold air intake, port the intake mani and head, bigger throttle body, etc. Mind you, doing all those mod swill cost more than a 1.8 swap and will make less power than a stock 1.8 as well. There is no better bang for buck mod for a 1.5 than to swap it out for a 1.8

Thanks mate exactly what I was thinking, but like ya said all those mods on 1.5 just isn't worth the money better off doing engine. Thank god it's easy with these jap nuggets

I removed all the extra *poo* on the intake and just left the stock filter on, made the flatspot around 2k RPM pretty much go away.
