Hi all,

Looking for extractors for '03 Mirage/4G15.
Stock engine.

HENS site has the 4-2-1 Tri-Y out of stock.

This one from Mufflers to the Max, looks to be a correct Tri-Y like HENS.
https://www.mufflerstothemax.com.au/mirage-1.5l-sohc-1996-tri-y-extractors
$287 plus shipping.

An ebay vendor in Mt Gambier has a listing, $396 free shipping.
Forum rules permit the posting of an ebay link?

Any other suggestions, comment or ... advice?

Thanks!

I’m lazy, I’d just go to my local exhaust shop and say... here ya go!

Extractors aren't gonna do much if the rest of your exhaust isn't matched to that diameter piping. Need to figure out the outlet of the extractors and make the rest of the exhaust the same or bigger. For example a 2" extractor outlet would go well with a 2" or 2.25" exhaust after. Need the cat, resonator and muffler to match that for the best flow and "power increase". No point doing the front of the exhaust if the back isn't done because the rear of the exhaust will still be small and decrease the exhaust flow anyway, so either get it all done at once or work your way from the rear to the front of the car.

On topic: Anything under $300 for extractors is fine. 4-1 is fine and 4-2-1 is fine. Doesn't really matter for 1.5L engines.

Also it is important to manage your expectations as doing these things on a 1.5L will not really yield much of a difference at all.

Thanks for the advices/recommendations. :)

The extractors/headers that I've looked at, have a 2" outlet.
I will extend that to a cat-back 2" exhaust system, single tip.
Not the usual 2.25" system. All noise and no go, from my ear experience.
If needed, an added resonator to keep things quiet in the neighborhood.

I know, there are limited, if any, gains to be had with this exhaust system and a stock 4G15 engine.
At least the exhaust gases flow more freely than the mass produced cast iron short runners.
And replaces the rattly (cat) exhaust in the process.

Hi all,

Confirm that the 2003 Mirage CE 1.5 4G15 1.5L SOHC engine does indeed, have square exhaust ports?

And Rigby? Yes, always with a resonator.

Thanks!

Sure does. Thats an aftermarket set of extractors, but it shows it nicely. Rectangular and shared port.
