So the other day i finally got around to changing the spark plugs that i forgot to do on my last service ( the week before )
Changed the plugs. Went to start it uo. Car craped it self. Was only running on 3 cylinders. Couldn't work out what the hell went wrong. Changed back to old plugs. Same thing. Cylinder 3 wasnt firing. Changed coils and leads today and the now runs but pretty rough. So at the same time the coils crapped out the same time i haopened to change the old plugs. Smells like its running pretty rich and is now backfiring a fair bit.
Someone suggested reseting the ecu by disconnecting the battety and reconnecting later???
Im pretty well outta ideas a d i have no idea what next to do or try.

Mmmm after having a second look the new coils are actually a tad shorter then the old ones

Coils, check the plug gapping if it's misfiring
Post that, clean your maf sensor, throttlebody and intake manifold (all are off the shelf sprays with instructions) and eliminate any other causes on the intake side. Maybe check your o2 sensor if all else fails

Also if you originally disconnected the battery while doing this for longer then roughly 5 min then you must let your car idle for about 10 minutes after that. This is due to the ecu resetting and if you dont let it "re learn" its idle it will run like poop. Id suggest resetting it again by disconnecting for 10min then re connecting and let it idle for 10min. Worth a shot and easy to do...

Also make sure its just turn key leave it. no revving etc

Also for reference standard plug gap is .44

Thanks guys thanks for the help sorry I forgot to check in on this turned out it was a spark plug gap call my plugs we're at 1.7 mil
