2003 CE Lancer no injector pulse! SOLVED!!!

Hey guys, I bought this 2003 CE Lancer off my cousin about 8 months ago, never missed a beat up until a few weeks ago when it started getting really sluggish, felt like It was missing, then on Thursday when I went to start it and it didn't start, so I waited about a minute and tried again, it started, so I put it in the shed, turned it off and it hasn't started since, I've tried everything.
it has spark
swapped the fuel pump as I had a suspicion the pump died
got pressure to the fuel rail
I tested for injector pulse and nothing. it has power to injectors but no ground pulse.
done a bit of research and narrowed it down to the immobiliser, could it be the immobiliser has armed or something more simple that I've missed?

its a 1.8 SOHC Manual.
thanks for your help
Zac

How did you test for injector pulse?

Immobiliser cuts the fuel pump signal from the ecu.

I used a test light on injector plug, one end in the constant power pin and the earth in the other pin.
oh haha, I read that the immobiliser cuts earth pulse to injectors.

I don't know if this matters either but the chip reader around the ignition barrel is all cracked and the copper wire is exposed. but its been like that ever since I've owned it and never had a problem.

Depends on the manufacturer, in the CE it stops the fuel pump from working. It could start, but only be able to use the leftover fuel in the rail. If its cracked, it might not be reading the key properly. Try to Replace the key reader with another one (can just use a different reader plugged in and held over the top of the old reader)

During cracking of the engine you'll get about 3ms of electrical signal to the injector, so i don't know if you'll able to see that.

I have a donor lancer up the back ill grab the reader out of that ad give it a shot in a minute. would a multimeter suit the injector pulse better?

okay so, update. IT'S RUNNING!!
so I swapped over the chip reader with a spare I had, after a lot of bumming around taking the steering wheel off and all that related stuff, put the new reader in and sure enough she started first shot. absolutely stoked. cheers donki for your help.
Ill post a photo of the old chip reader in a few after I get the interior back together.
