hi guys,
Im looking for the best gearbox oil choice for my 2006 2.4L lancer, coz i feel something not good while driving , and what is the best way to change.
Thank you

Manuals require 2.2L of Mitsubishi Motors Genuine MTF

Automatics require 7.7L of Mitsubishi Motors Genuine ATF SP III

Mitsubishi specifies their genuine oil for 2.4L (4G69) motor - if youre looking for an alternative, be very cautious. Check out some of the Evo forums if you'd like to see the results haha

I think the important part is the GL rating rather than genuine or not.
The issue being that the Mitsubishi manual gearboxes require GL4 gear oil but a lot of people use GL5 which ruins the brass synchros etc.
To make things worse in the gearbox manual it states to use "GL-4 or higher" which would make people think GL5 is fine.

So to the OP, a GL-4 rated oil of 75w85 viscosity from memory.

Penrite FS automatic transmission fluid is a very high quality synthetic product that will work well in your auto. I would suggest getting a scan done on the car to check for other faults.

So it is an automatic?
What is the behaviour like that makes you think you need to change the fluid?

So i have here in my country Mobil 320 , Castrol dex iii and Shell spirax s4 atf hdx
So what i should to do
I driven about 25000 miles on it and i feel kick when i get slow

Castrol transmax or shell spirax S4 will suit your application. It's a bit more exotic an oil than just dex 3.

I know with other Mitsubishi auto transmissions they would fail if the wrong fluid was used - Make sure this isn't one of them

It is normal steptronic transmission not cvt but the mechanic told me it better to fill it with white fluid !!

Netlube online for the oil manufacturers will give you all the oil specifications. That's how I came up with the two options above.
